Light in Theory and Practice

Light in Theory and Practice is a lecture series on the role of light in art and architecture from antiquity to the present—as an artistic medium, an epistemological metaphor, and a condition of possibility for seeing and being seen.

Many thanks to the Marshall Woods Lectureships Foundation of Fine Arts, and the Margerie Cutler, Joseph Edinburgh, and Kenneth List funds in the History of Art and Architecture. This series is also funded in part by the Brown Arts Institute.
