Sheila Bonde receives 2019 OVPR Salomon Award

The Richard B. Salomon Faculty Research Awards supported 13 exceptional faculty research projects at the University in 2019.

ChurchSheila Bonde, Professor of History of Art and Architecture recently received a Richard B. Salomon Faculty Research Award for The Sensory Monastery, a new and intentionally innovative project that engages with the sensory experiences of monasticism across time. It will focus on the abbey of Saint-Jean-des-Vignes in France, using Sant-Jean as a case study for aspects of the phenomenological, that were typical of medieval and early modern monastic life.
