Each year, the History of Art and Architecture Department presents a yearlong lecture series that focuses on an area of current scholarship that is of interest to our faculty and students, and to the university. This year's series entitled On Speculation considers the changing field of study in art and architectural history, and its value to the larger field of humanities research and education.  According to the Department Chair, Evelyn Lincoln, "each lecture offers distinctive visions of the past and a sense of possible futures for study in the history of art and architecture by looking, risking, exchanging, valuing, questioning and proposing new problems from a range of geographical perspectives and time periods." Please go to the On Speculation page of our website for a list of all the speakers.

The series is sponsored by The Department of the History of Art and Architecture’s Margerie Cutler, Joseph Edinburgh, and Kenneth List funds, The Anita Glass Memorial Lecture Fund, The Center for Contemporary South Asia, the Center for the Study of the Early Modern World, and the C.V. Starr Foundation Lectureship Fund.
