Netherlandish Art Class Visits the MFA

On December 4, Professor Jeffrey Muller’s class, “Dutch and Flemish Art: Visual Culture of the Netherlands in the Seventeenth Century,” paid a visit to the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston.

On December 4, Professor Jeffrey Muller’s class, “Dutch and Flemish Art: Visual Culture of the Netherlands in the Seventeenth Century,” paid a visit to the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. The course surveyed the paintings, sculptures, and architecture that formed the historical environment of life, and revolutionized all media, in 17th-century Holland and Flanders. As such, the class visited the MFA's new Dutch and Flemish galleries. Students were able to study, in person, works — of artists such as Rubens, Rembrandt, and Van Dyck — that they have discussed throughout the semester. History of Art and Architecture is pleased that such a visit was possible, as the department safely resumes in-person events and programming.
