Ph.D. Candidate, Dominic Bate, was awarded a Summer Travel Fellowship from the Lewis Walpole Library in Farmington, CT.

Lewis Walpole Library At LWL, Bate will be pursuing research on his dissertation, "Pythagorean Visions: Picturing Harmony in British Art, 1719–1753." His dissertation examines how an idea of cosmic harmony associated with the ancient Greek philosopher Pythagoras appeared and was developed in artistic practice in eighteenth-century Britain.
