Feier Ying, a second-year Ph.D. student of Chinese art, continued exploring her research interest in landscape paintings of the Lower Yangzi River Delta and published a research article in the academic journal of Zhejiang University. This article delves into the seventeenth-century artists of the Mount Yu region, drawing from the remarkable Weng Family collection. Besides, Feier published the translation of Nancy Berliner’s book on the Eight Brokens, a unique hand-painted collage painting from early-modern China, originally curated and published by the Boston MFA. This translation broadens accessibility by making the inaugural comprehensive study of this kind of painting available in Chinese. Feier also contributed to the catalog entry of the Southern Paradise exhibition at Cleveland, one of the most prominent exhibitions of Chinese painting in recent years. In addition to her scholarly pursuit, Feier participated in organizing a research trip to the Cleveland Art Museum and Allen Memorial Art Museum at Oberlin College in the fall semester of 2023. This trip brought together professors, visiting fellows, and Brown students from Brown University specializing in Chinese art.
