The 2024 Collaborative Public Workshop celebrates the work of seven Brown University Ph.D. candidates completing the Doctoral Certificate in Collaborative Humanities and features presentations of their innovative and timely work.
HIAA PhD student Yannick Etoundi will present his paper, “Abolishing Slavery, Building French Colonialism: Guadeloupe and Martinique, 1848–1900”.
Presentations include commentaries from scholars Caroline Levine (Cornell University), Uri McMillan (University of California, Los Angeles), Peter Szendy (Brown University), and Alexander Weheliye (Brown University), as well as a Q&A.
