HIAA's Associate Professor Jeffrey Moser was invited to speak during Columbia University's Critical Chinese Humanities Colloquium in New York. His talk “Depth and Delay: Burial as a Medium in Medieval China” explored the burial practices associated with the assertive, polemical Confucianism of 11th century China that used the disposition of bodies in the earth as a way of establishing expectations for the living.
