HIAA's Associate Professor Jeffrey Moser was invited to speak during the 18th Annual Lawrence J. Schoenberg Symposium on Manuscript Studies in the Digital Age, organized by the Penn Libraries of the University of Pennsylvania. The theme of the Symposium was “Interpreting the Ancients”, and Professor Moser's talk titled “Being Ancient in Medieval China” took place on Saturday November 22, 2025. His talk explores the two great and vital categories of evidence that enable us to understand ancient Chinese civilization - the material, and the textual.
