The HIAA Department is delighted to announce that Professor Lindsay Caplan has been chosen to receive the John Rowe Workman Award for Excellence in Teaching in the Humanities for 2026. 

The award recognizes Brown faculty members for sustained and continued excellence in teaching. The evaluators were deeply impressed by her teaching accomplishments, as expressed in the glowing nominations praising her work as an outstanding teacher with lasting impact on her students. The award comes with research funding support and will be celebrated at a formal award presentation at the annual Sheridan Center’s University Awards Ceremony in April 2026.
