“Painters, Ports and Profits” Exhibition Draws Praise from the Wall Street Journal and the Boston Globe

The exhibition was described as “wondrous to look at and unsettling to ponder” by Boston Globe staff writer Mark Feeney, and “quite intimate…by focusing on small exchanges among overlooked artists and mediums, the curators reveal how an [East India Company] style was produced not by top-down decree, but through dynamic interactions among networks of ambitious artists” by Wall Street Journal art reviewer Michael J. Hatch.

The exhibition is on view through June 21, 2026 at the Yale Center for British Art, New Haven
