In Fall 2018, Professor Phoenix Savage of Tougaloo College opened her course "African American Art History," to Brown students via video-conference. As part of this class, Brown students traveled to Mississippi to meet their peers at Tougaloo College, to attend lectures with Professor Savage, and to visit historical architectural sites such as the Melrose Plantation, St. Augustine Church and Badin Roque House. Several Tougaloo students were also enrolled in Professor Sheila Bonde's HIAA 0010, History of Global Art and Architecture class and were able to meet Professor Bonde in person at Tougaloo.
