Grad/Undergrad Mentorship Program a Success

Grads and undergrads get together for informal meetings over coffee to discuss course selections.

For the past few years, HIAA graduate students have organized a successful mentorship program for art history department undergraduates. Graduate student Josie Johnson explains "Laura Chilson-Parks initiated the program three years ago, and now we are having our biggest year yet with twenty-one undergraduates signed up and paired twelve graduate student mentors!" Grads and undergrads get together for informal meetings over coffee to discuss course selections, thesis project ideas, summer internships, and future career options. "It's been a great way to build community within the department and get to know some familiar faces on a more personal level," says Johnson.
