History of Art and Architecture

Fall 2020 Courses

We have recently added a new class, taught by graduate student Peter Levins, HIAA 1850I: Architectures of the Sea.

What are we art historians thinking about now? How are we looking at art and architectural objects differently than we have in the past? Whether in person or remotely, we will come together in the Fall again to continue our rich exploration of these ideas in the wake of current political, social and public health upheavals.  Courses this fall focus on themes that faculty feel are timely and relevant: Colonization/PowerTradition/ResistanceBuilding/Belonging; and Commemoration. Please go to Courses at Brown for more details.
