The Glass Mosque with Artist Shahzia Sikander and Professor Holly Shaffer

This seminar and public gathering explored the concept of “The Glass Mosque” by way of the hand, storytelling and the book arts, composition and sound, and art and architectural history. This event brought the public together with students in the course to think alongside artist Shahzia Sikander and Professor Holly Shaffer.

This seminar and public gathering explored the concept of “The Glass Mosque” by way of the hand, storytelling and the book arts, composition and sound, and art and architectural history. Interactive and participatory it will be led by visual artist Shahzia Sikander, writer Yasmeen Siddiqui, composer Vijay Iyer, and Robert Gale Noyes Assistant Professor in the Humanities, Holly Shaffer. This is part of a collaboration among Sikander, Iyer, poet Bhanu Kapil, and author Fred Moten. “The Glass Mosque” will be realized as a series of books edited by Siddiqui and published by Minerva Projects.
