Biography
Isis studies modern architecture and post-colonial landscapes. Her work primarily concerns the construction of national and cultural identities in the Caribbean vis a vis the built environment. Her research has explored the architectures of Jamaica’s plantation society with a focus on the great house and modes of ocularity. Her current research builds on her long-term interest in identity, globalization, post-colonialism as well as neo-colonialism as it relates to the architectural landscape of Port of Spain, Trinidad. Isis holds a BA from Mount Holyoke College and an MDes from the Graduate School of Design at Harvard University.
