Biography

Miranda Cuozzo’s research interests lie at the intersection of architecture and the African diaspora. She is particularly interested in architecture as the study of place-making and its relationship to the diasporic search for place that marks much of African American history and culture. Miranda holds a B.Arch from the University of Notre Dame, where she also completed minors in Africana Studies and Studio Art. Her undergraduate thesis, “Blackness in Architecture'' explored how to architecturally express Black American culture through a design for a library and cultural center in Gary, Indiana. Before joining Brown, Miranda worked as an architectural designer in Philadelphia.
