Judith Tolnick Champa, '79 MA History of Art will be curating an ambitious exhibition and, with three co-organizers, a Forum for early fall entitled ReWilding: Ethnobotany in the Urban.

The walking tour was written and researched by Professor Dietrich Neumann and his students.

Professor Sassin received a grant for her article, "Single People and Mass Housing in Germany (1850–1930): (No) Home Away From Home."

Similar to how a museum curator selects objects for an exhibition, Maya selected 8 sites on Brown's campus that are "portraits" of Brown–some are framed, most are not–to raise questions and create opportunities for changing institutions from within.

Dietrich Neumann has published a book chapter, entitled: "All the Struggles of the Present:  Alexander Dorner, Henry-Russell Hitchcock, and Rhode Island Architecture."

Professors Neumann, Osayimwese and department graduate and undergraduate students will be involved in public programs, talks, and tours about architecture in Providence.

Her talk argued for a more critical understanding of medieval and early modern conceptions of mimesis through an examination of a range of figural objects.

Professor Lincoln's chapter, "Printers and Publishers in Early Modern Rome" is included in a new book.

We are honored that HIAA architecture faculty Itohan Osayimwese and Dietrich Neumann are the local co-chairs of this year's conference.

The Richard B. Salomon Faculty Research Awards supported 13 exceptional faculty research projects at the University in 2019.

Nina Macaraig, Koç University, Istanbul, will present her talk on Ottoman sensescapes.

The lecture is sponsored by the Anita Glass Memorial Fund through the Department of the History of Art and Architecture.

Her piece, “Mirabilis jalapa” received first prize in the exhibition showing on the second floor of the Watson Institute.

Students were asked to create artwork and then write reflective essays based on the pieces they learned about in class.

Grads and undergrads get together for informal meetings over coffee to discuss course selections.

The concentration now includes a number of mandatory classes at Rhode Island School of Design.
